Dr. Judy van Stralen, Pediatrician

Dr. van Stralen is a community based consulting pediatrician. She completed her medical degree at McMaster University and pediatric residency training at Queen’s University. Dr. van Stralen is the founder and medical director of the Center for Pediatric Excellence, a multi-disciplinary clinic focused on treating patients with mental health and neurodevelopmental disorders. She is also a consultant at Children’s Mental Health of Leeds and Grenville, Assistant Professor at Queen’s University and Staff Pediatrician at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario.

Dr. van Stralen has over 18 years of experience treating patients with ADHD and related behavioral and mental health disorders. She uses clinical expertise, patient values and the best research evidence in the decision making process for individualized patient care. Dr. van Stralen takes a special interest in the welfare of first nations children based on her experience working on Six Nations and in Moose Factory.

A recognized international expert in pediatric ADHD, Dr. van Stralen is actively involved in ADHD research as well as teaching medical students and residents. Dr. van Stralen is the founder and organizer of the Ottawa ADHD symposium to educate physicians about ADHD as well as organizing a related public forum. She continues to publicly advocate for children’s health needs.
